Even though, tradition states that the bride and groom should not see each other before the wedding ceremony. For those couples willing to break the superstition it can be a great idea to take many of your photos before the wedding ceremony. Taking photos prior to the ceremony will give you a better chance of going straight to the reception after the wedding ceremony. Since you do not have to spend the next hour or so taking photos, your guest will not have to spend the next hour or so waiting to see the lovely newlyweds.
If you’re willing to take pictures prior to the ceremony, you should try to do so at least three hours before the start of the ceremony. This will give us the opportunity to devote time to taking pictures without the distraction of friends and family. Along with using locations at your venue that may not be accessible after the ceremony.
Then we can go straight into any posed shots you might have requested to take with the wedding party and immediate family. And immediately following that we can photograph any extended family and friends you may want to have in your photo selection.
If you believe it to be bad luck to see each other before the ceremony, well that is fine as well. In that case it is still probably best to get as many of the individual photos out of the way as possible. Then immediately after the wedding ceremony, take the pictures of you with your friends and family, allowing them to go to the reception hall afterwards. Now its time to get the pictures of the newlyweds together.
It is wise to let your friend and family know the importance of being on time for the photographs as well. This will prevent us from having to look for them when the time comes. Call them in advance and let them know what time you will be taking pictures along with where. I know that good photography is not cheap and with that in mind you would should use our time and expertise to the fullest extent. And at the same time this will make your wedding seem to go much smoother. You have many things to worry about we would like to make sure that getting great photos is not one of them.
For those of us that cry at wedding you should truly think of getting your pictures done before the wedding ceremony. If you cry during or after the wedding ceremony well, that’s just all part of a beautiful wedding.
Although it is not necessary to take engagement photos there are some big advantages to doing so. One of the best is so that we can establish a relationship with each other. That way you can get a feel of what I’m like and I get a feel of what you “do like”. While taking your photos, I will be taking note of your individual personalities, which will help me to capture images that are unique to you on your wedding day. An engagement photography session can also be used as a platform to take formal shots for invitations and wedding programs. If you would like we can even make a DVD slideshow with your engagement photos. And then turn these DVDs into DVD invitations to send out to friends and family.
The photography cruise is still in planning. We are hoping to get a variety of couples to take a caribbean photography cruise with us. We are currently in the process of ironing out the details as to how we would like for this event to take place. I can say that if all goes as planned the rates for our friends(clients) will be greatly reduced compared to booking your own cruises. Right now we are focusing on our port of origin being either from Fort Lauderdale or Miami, FL. We will also be doing random candid photography shoots throughout the cruise.
Clients, if you have any questions concerning this event please feel free to e-mail us at info@richdonphotography.com
P. S. Looking forward to sailing with you.
